BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged political leaders in Bangladesh to move away from the culture of revenge-driven politics and instead work toward a qualitative change in the nation’s political practices.

“We must abandon the politics of vengeance and rhetoric to ensure positive change for the sake of the future generation,” he said while addressing a programme at the China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka on Tuesday. The event, marking the 45th founding anniversary of Jatiotabadi Swechhasebak Dal, was organized by BNP’s volunteer wing.

Speaking virtually from London, Tarique stressed that BNP envisions a safer future for both present and next generations, which requires breaking free from outdated political traditions. He also noted that as the world transitions into the era of Artificial Intelligence, Bangladesh cannot afford to fall behind.

“To meet the challenges of this new age, we are already identifying priority sectors and formulating specific, well-thought-out plans for the future generation,” he added.
