Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed said his rhythm is getting better after returning from injury. Taskin suffered an achilles injury during the ICC Champions Trophy which kept him out of action for a few months. He returned to the side in the Sri Lanka tour, but admitted that he was struggling with his rhythm there.

But Taskin showed his fiery side on Saturday against the Netherlands, picking up four wickets for just 28 runs to restrict the visitors 136/8 which the hosts eventually chased down easily in 13.3 overs.

Taskin said his rhythm is getting better day by day after working really hard in the training in the past few weeks.

“Alhamdulillah, getting better (rhythm). I returned with the Sri Lanka series after injury but was struggled a bit there. But I’m getting better. I’ve worked really hard over the past few weeks in training. Still a long way to go, it will get even better hopefully. I’m following the process,” Taskin said after the match.

“As a fast bowler, I definitely want to bowl as fast as I can. But it’s important to bowl according to the situation. I bowled at the beginning, in the middle and then at the death. I tried to bowl how the situation demanded. Alhamdulillah, I could execute well. In T20Is, even good deliveries can go for a boundary. But tonight, it went well overall and could execute the variations properly,” he added.
