Teen gang terror in Kamrangirchar: Locals feel insecure

Liberty News Desk

In the heart of Kamrangirchar, the road stretching from Sheikh Jamal School to Tula Gachtola has become a name of fear. Locals allege that from 10 a.m. to midnight, teenage gang members occupy the area, harassing pedestrians and engaging in various forms of misconduct. Women, in particular, are often subjected to eve-teasing and verbal abuse.

Residents complain that after evening, the Beribadh walkway turns into a gathering spot for these gangs. Equipped with knives and sharp weapons, they wait with the intent of mugging, forcing locals to avoid the route out of fear.

According to locals, such activities are tarnishing the image of Kamrangirchar. These gangs, mostly formed by slum-dwelling and homeless teens, are spreading unrest throughout the community.

They urged the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamrangirchar Police Station and other concerned authorities to take immediate steps. Locals believe that if special teams conduct regular drives in the area every evening, such crimes can be controlled. They also demanded coordinated action from the army and law enforcement agencies to restore peace in the area.
