Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand won the Miss World 2025 crown on Saturday, triumphing over 107 international contestants in the 72nd edition of the global beauty pageant held in Hyderabad, India.

The 23-year-old Thai beauty queen was crowned by outgoing Miss World Krystyna Pyszková in a glittering ceremony co-hosted by former Miss World Stephanie del Valle and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar.

Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu was named the first runner-up, while contestants from Brazil, the Philippines, and Ukraine completed the top five.

Chuangsri’s victory marks a historic moment for Thailand, which has long pursued the coveted Miss World title. Her poise, advocacy work, and compelling responses during the Q&A round impressed both judges and audiences.

India’s Nandini Gupta made it to the top 20 before being eliminated. Despite not reaching the finals, her presence extended India’s consistent track record in the competition. India remains one of the most successful nations in Miss World history with six previous titleholders, including icons like Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra.

This year’s pageant, held for the second consecutive year in India, celebrated global culture and female empowerment. Contestants participated in talent, sports, and beauty with a purpose segments leading up to the finale.

Chuangsri is expected to travel the world over the next year promoting humanitarian causes and the Miss World Foundation’s mission of “beauty with a purpose.”
