Police in Lalmonirhat have arrested three individuals with a pistol, ammunition, and 50 bottles of Phensedyl during a vehicle search in the Kulaghat Union area. The arrests were made on Sunday night, and further investigation is ongoing.
Three individuals were arrested in Lalmonirhat with illegal items including a pistol, three rounds of ammunition, and 50 bottles of Phensedyl on Sunday night. The arrest took place during a vehicle search by the police at the Sakoa Tiktiaki area in the Kulaghat Union of Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jewel (29), the son of Nosher Ali from Dharmarai Bangla, Dhaka; Liton Howlader (27) from Manikganj; and Aslam Mia (30).
Sadar police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mohammad Noor Nabi, confirmed the arrests and stated that the police, acting on a tip-off, stopped the microbus and conducted a search, leading to the recovery of the pistol, ammunition, and drugs.
Liberty News’ local correspondent states that the suspects are currently being interrogated, and police have not yet confirmed where they obtained the firearms and drugs. Legal proceedings are underway.
