US President Donald Trump has issued a “last warning” to Hamas, urging them to release all Israeli hostages and leave Gaza, threatening severe consequences if these demands are not met.

In a stern message aimed at the Palestinian militant group Hamas, US President Donald Trump has given a “last warning” to release all Israeli captives held in Gaza and for Hamas leaders to leave the region. Trump posted his warning on social media, threatening that failure to comply would result in “severe consequences.”

The message came at a critical juncture, with the White House confirming direct talks with Hamas for the first time since 1997. These talks are centered around the release of US-Israeli prisoners and the possibility of ending the ongoing Gaza conflict. Trump’s warning reflects the heightened tensions in the region, as Gaza remains under a strict Israeli blockade, exacerbating food shortages and economic distress among Palestinians.

Trump’s post included a direct message to Hamas leadership: “This is your last warning! You should leave Gaza now. You still have an opportunity.” He also addressed the people of Gaza, saying, “A bright future awaits you, but it will not happen if you continue holding hostages. If you do, you will die. Make the smart choice.”

This development follows a series of unprecedented negotiations between the US and Hamas, with the US envoy, Adam Boehler, meeting Hamas officials in Doha, Qatar. The main goal of these talks is to secure the release of American detainees and work toward a long-term ceasefire in Gaza.

The direct involvement of the US in talks with Hamas marks a significant shift in policy. The US had previously designated Hamas as a terrorist organization in 1997.

Liberty News’ international correspondent states that Gaza’s ongoing blockade has led to severe humanitarian conditions, with the World Food Program warning that food supplies in the region could run out in less than two weeks due to the blockade.
