Eyewitness Aminul said the truck was coming from Dhunot when it hit Hanif, who was standing near Bashir Pagla Mazar in Ranbir Bala. The truck then crashed into a locally made three-wheeler (votvoti) carrying laborers for potato harvesting, causing both vehicles to overturn. Harun and Hanif died on the spot, while 21 others sustained injuries.

One of the injured, Haran, said, “We were traveling from Jhajhar to Kusumbi for potato harvesting. There were 17 women and five men on board the votvoti when the accident happened in Ranbir Bala.”

Sherpur Fire Service Warehouse In-Charge Bakhtiar Uddin said they responded quickly to the scene and transported the injured to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Sherpur Police Station Sub-Inspector Tofazzal Hossain confirmed that the injured were taken to local hospitals, including Bogura’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Though no arrests have been made, the truck has been seized, and legal action will be taken.
