Members of RAB-15 have arrested two Rohingyas with one illegal firearm and three rounds of ammunition during an operation in the Balukhali TV Tower area of Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar.
On Tuesday evening (January 28), the RAB-15 operational team from the Hoiakyang camp conducted an operation. The arrestees are Mohammad Abdur Rahim (65), son of the late Gonu Miah from Kutupalong Camp No. 2/East, Block-C, and Akhtar Hossain (26), son of Thanda Miah from Camp No. 15. RAB-15’s Assistant Director (Law and Media) Assistant Police Superintendent A.M. Faruk stated that after receiving information about a group of drug dealers planning to buy and sell yaba, the RAB carried out a drug operation at the scene.
Liberty News’ local correspondent reports that two individuals were caught red-handed during the operation. A locally made weapon and three rounds of ammunition were recovered from them. The arrested individuals have been handed over to the police station, and a case has been filed, according to the officer.
