The United States has issued a warning over individuals entering the country illegally, saying such actions constitute international crimes and pose threats to global security.
On Monday (22 September), the US Embassy in Dhaka posted the warning on its official Facebook page, highlighting the risks of illegal migration.
According to the statement, securing borders helps prevent displacement, exploitation, and loss of life, while putting an end to illegal immigration contributes to ensuring overall safety.
The embassy also noted that under President Donald Trump’s second term, efforts to deport illegal migrants have been intensified. As part of this drive, nationals from several countries, including Bangladesh, are being sent back.
In recent months, at least 180 Bangladeshis—most of whom had entered the US through the Mexico border—have been deported, officials confirmed.
