Van-puller lured and killed in Pabna

In the Sathia area of Pabna, a van driver named Sujal (38) was lured by phone call under the pretense of a rental offer, only to be murdered and have his van stolen by criminals. The incident took place at Swarop, located on the Madhpur-Sathia regional highway. Later, his body was recovered from a pond by the police. Sujal, aged 38, was the son of Ishak Ali Pramanik from Khayerbari village in the area.

According to his family, Sujal had recently purchased a new van for nearly one lakh taka. On Friday night (February 14) at around 10 p.m., he was called under the guise of a rental offer, but after that, his phone was switched off. He did not return home that night. On Saturday morning, locals noticed a body floating in a pond. The news spread, and Sujal’s relatives arrived at the scene to identify the body.

Sathia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saidur Rahman confirmed the incident to Liberty News, stating, “We received a call on Triple Nine (999) and arrived at the scene to recover the body, which was sent to the Pabna morgue. Legal action will be taken after an investigation. A case is in process.”
