Indian woman arrested with weapons from Chhatra League leader’s house

In a joint operation, a woman named Nadira Akter Happy (50) was arrested in Gafargaon, Mymensingh. During her arrest, authorities seized an Indian National ID card, foreign pistol, toy pistol, machete, cleaver, sickle, trident, Chinese cleaver, knife, kukri, five Saudi riyals, and 2,800 Indian rupees.

On Tuesday (February 25) afternoon, a case was filed under the Arms and Special Powers Act, she was sent to jail through court proceedings.

Earlier that morning, the joint forces arrested the woman from the house of the banned and declared student leader, Hriday, in the Shilasi area of Gafargaon municipal town, as confirmed by Gafargaon Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shibbirul Islam.

Nadira Akter Happy is a resident of Charalgi Union but was living in a rented house in the Shilasi area with her third husband, Abul Hossain, where she had been staying with the banned leader, Hriday.

OC Shibbirul Islam told Liberty News that the woman was arrested following a tip-off. She is known in the area as an illegal arms holder, drug dealer, and yaba user.
