Eighteen Bangladeshi female footballers who had staged a rebellion demanding the resignation of head coach Peter Butler have now pledged to return to training, following a conversation with Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) women’s wing chief, Mahfuza Akter Kiran.

The 18 footballers had previously withdrawn from training in protest against Coach Butler’s leadership, prompting the Bangladesh Football Federation to continue their preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers and the UAE tour without them.

However, after a discussion on Sunday morning (February 16) between Mahfuza Akter Kiran and the rebellious players, including Sabina Khatun, the players decided to withdraw their protest. They have now committed to returning to the training camp, signaling the resolution of the dispute.

Liberty News’ sports correspondent states that the BFF women’s wing chief confirmed the development, stating that the players will rejoin the squad, allowing the team to continue their preparations.
