In Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, locals beat a young man on suspicion of theft , handed him over to the police. A revolver and a magazine were recovered from him during the incident.
The incident took place late Tuesday night at an auto-rickshaw garage near the Pathantuli bus stand in Siddhirganj. The detained youth, Zahidul Hasan Rehan (22), is the son of Ansar Ali from the Pathantuli area of Siddhirganj.
Regarding this, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Siddhirganj police station, Shahinur Alam, told Liberty News that on Tuesday night, locals detained a man named Zahidul Hasan Rehan. While being beaten by the crowd on suspicion of theft, he sustained injuries. Later, when locals informed the police, officers arrived at the scene, rescued Rehan in his injured state. A 7.65 pistol and a magazine were recovered from him. Injured Rehan is currently undergoing treatment at Pangu Hospital. A case is being prepared in connection with the incident.
