Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring law and order, working in coordination with security forces to protect lives and property across Bangladesh. He urged citizens to uphold discipline and contribute to a peaceful and stable nation.

“The government is actively collaborating with security forces to preserve law and order,” Yunus stated on Friday. “Any attempt to incite unrest or destruction will be met with strict legal action.”

In a statement released by his Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, the Chief Adviser warned that any provocation aimed at destabilizing the country would face immediate consequences. He emphasized that those responsible for chaos and destruction would be held accountable.

The interim government called for an immediate restoration of law and order, urging citizens to refrain from attacking properties linked to Sheikh Hasina’s family or members of the Awami League.

“The world is watching. Any deterioration in law and order could send the wrong message globally,” the statement read. It acknowledged the frustrations of activists who endured hardship under Hasina’s rule but stressed that the rule of law must be upheld.

The government further accused Hasina, currently in New Delhi, of attempting to disrupt Bangladesh’s recovery by mobilizing her supporters. Despite these concerns, it appealed to citizens to act lawfully and demonstrate that Bangladesh respects legal principles.

“We are building a new Bangladesh, free from the repression of the past. Let us not compromise our sense of security and stability,” the statement added.

The interim government urged citizens to uphold justice and refrain from actions that could create parallels between past autocratic regimes and the present administration. “Our commitment to human rights and lawful governance must remain unshakable.”

Liberty News’ national correspondent states that Bangladesh now stands at a crucial juncture, and the government reiterated its determination to prevent any forces from pushing the country into instability. Security agencies remain on high alert to counter any threats to national peace.
