Zimbabwe secured a thrilling three-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first Test at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Wesley Madhevere’s reverse-swept boundary off Mehidy Hasan Miraz clinched the win, despite Miraz’s second five-wicket haul nearly turning the game for Bangladesh.

Chasing 174, Zimbabwe raced to 95 without loss by the 21st over.

However, Miraz’s dismissal of Ben Curran sparked a collapse, with three more wickets falling for 33 runs—two to Miraz and one to Taijul Islam.

As hope faded, Miraz and Taijul’s efforts gave Bangladesh look forward to, but Zimbabwe prevailed.
